Clonal Samples (Long-Term Experiment)
REL606 and REL607 are the Ara- and Ara+ ancestors, respectively. They are isogenic, with the exception of the spontaneous mutation to Ara+ in REL607. Six populations were founded from each of the ancestral clones, giving 12 populations in all. There are three standard clones from each population in the generations listed. Each uses the four-digit number that is shown below, followed by the letter a, b, or c to distinguish among them. For example, REL2179b is the second clone from population A-1 at generation 5,000.
(REL1206 is another clone from population A-1 at generation 2,000. It was used as progenitor for the temperature project.)
(REL4548 is another clone from population A-1 at generation 10,000. It has been used as a progenitor for several other experiments.)
